Book Rap
A Book Rap is a short, sharp presentation designed to promote a book that you have read. It is NOT a book review or formal presentation.
1. Try to have a copy of the book in your hand.
2. Start with an interesting opening sentence or question.
Something like:
When I first saw the cover of this book, I thought it would be soo boring, but I was soo wrong!
OR
Ask a question: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to.....
3. Provide some background to the book. (Where you first heard about it, the characters, whether it is part of a series etc).
4. Give a brief overview of the plot. (Don’t give away the ending, of course)
5. Explain why you loved it and why you think others should read it.
